Imphal, March 05 2013: A 16 year old girl was found dead at Haorang canal under Lamsang police station in Imphal West district at about 11.30 am today.
A police source informed that Khullem Tondon (16) d/o late Kulamani of Luker Mayai Leikai was found dead inside the canal with her face turned to the ground.
A phanek suspected to be hers was discovered about 500 metres away from her body in a paddy field.
Police have picked up and deposited the corpse at RIMS mortuary.
It is reported that Tondon was missing since the last 4/5 days.
