Imphal, February 12 2013: Goods worth several lakhs of rupees have been destroyed in an accidental fire that broke out at Rupmahal Tank here this morning.
According to information culled from the spot, the ravaging fire broke out on the 6th floor of a multi-storeyed building at about 10.25 am.
Even though fire tenders swung into action immediately, the fire ravaged large parts of the roof and walls besides destroying goods several lakhs of rupees before it could be brought under control.

The particular floor where the fire broke out was occupied by an electrician named Harikishan Mehta from Bihar.
The building belongs to one Sana Kabui.
It is suspected that the fire inferno originated from electric short circuit.
