Imphal, June 02 2013: A huge quantity of illegal drugs concealed among life saving drugs and tiles which were being taken towards Imphal in a truck were seized by Sekmai police today.
On receiving a specific input that a consignment of illegal drugs was being transported to Imphal from Guwahati, a team of Sekmai PS was checking all trucks which were moving past Sekmai along NH 2 in front of Sekmai when they came across the truck carrying illegal drugs at about 6 pm yesterday.
On checking the truck (AS-11-AC/6348) which was loaded with life saving drugs and tiles, the police team found 41,313 numbers of Spasmo Proxyvon, 4500 N-10 tablets, 380 bottles of Lupicof (Codeine syrup) of 100 ml capacity each and 100 bottles of R-COF, said OC K Premjit.

However, the exact value of the seized drugs was not disclosed.
Truck driver Md Ziauddin alias Sana (38) s/o Nizamuddin of Lilong Chingkham Dam Makha and his assistant Siraj Khan (19) s/o Nahatomba of Thoubal Moijing Wangmataba Mayai Leikai have been taken into police custody and a case has been registered against them.
