Imphal, May 15, 2013: Assam University has conferred DLit doctoral degree to noted theatre director Ratan Thiyam.
This is the third time that he has been conferred the Doctor of Literature.
His first doctoral degree was awarded by Rabindra Bharati University and the second degree by Gauhati University.
Ratan Thiyam received his latest honour during the 13th convocation ceremony of Assam University held at Silchar on May 14 .
The ceremony was attended by President Pranab Mukherjee, Assam Governor Janaki Ballabh Patnaik and Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
