CIPMC organises training program

Imphal, July 01 2013: Central Integrated Pest Management Centre, Imphal under Ministry of Agriculture Govt of India has organised an orientation training program in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for Kharif crop 2013-14 at Hundred Flowers School, Khomidok yesterday.


According to a press note of CIPMC, the training program was presided over by Mohd Abdur Rahman, Retd IPS and attended by Ph Rajendro, Dy Director (IPM) State Agriculture Department; Dr D Kumar, Sr Scientist (Entomologists) ICAR; Dr Mohd Mahmud Khan, Officer in-Charge CIPMC and Mohd Badrur Rahman, Member of 7-Kairang Khomidok Zilla Parishad.


During the occasion, Ph Rajendro appealed the farmers for judicious use of chemical fertilizers, insecticides/pesticides which are harmful to human being.


He expressed shock that some farmers use high dose of chemical fertilizers and banned insecticides while farming and strongly suggested to adopt the methods of IPM as it is ecofriendly.


The training program was attended by 50 selected farmers, it stated.
