A ferry carrying over 300 passengers sank in the Brahmaputra river

A ferry carrying over 300 passengers sank in the Brahmaputra river after being caught in a severe storm midstream in Dhubri district on Monday, April 30.
100 people drowned, over 100 went missing and several others are feared dead in this boat capsize.

This happens to be one of the worst boat tragedies in Northeast India. A massive rescue operation was launched but darkness and bad weather hampered the search. A clear picture will emerge only on Tuesday.
