Imphal, August 30 2013 : The 18th foundation day of Indo-Myanmar Border Traders’ Union (IMBTU) was celebrated at Manipur Press Club today.


Commerce and Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam, who attended the function as chief guest, said that the State Government would be able to set up a food testing laboratory by next financial year.


Tender process for the said matter is nearing completion, the Minister added.


Govindas opined that the role of Manipur in India’s Look East Policy must be chalked out in advance.


All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union President Wangkhemcha Shyamjai, IMBTU President W Nabachandra, Prof Priyoranjan and Prof Mohendro of Manipur University and Commerce and Industries Director B John Tilangtingkhuma also attended the function.
