Imphal, August 29 2013: Acting on the reports about hoarding stamps and selling them at inflated rates, district level Treasury offices have been licensed to sell stamps.
An official source informed that the Government has recognised district level Treasury offices as ex-officio stamp vendors apart from the already existing stamp vendors approved by the Revenue Department.
Treasury offices have been licensed to sell non-judicial stamps and the Government has initiated due process to allow Treasury offices deal in judicial stamps too.
