Feasibility of using Loktak water for consumption studied

Imphal, February 21 2015 : Scholars and teachers of the Centre for Human Rights and Duties Education, Manipur University constituted an academic approach to test the possible utilisation of Loktak water via treatment at Thanga today.

Dr Maibam Suresh Kumar, HOD, Centre for Human Rights and Duties Education, MU, during the expedition said the State faces acute scarcity of drinking water every year during the period beginning from March to May.

The approach was made with an aim to study the feasibility of utilising Loktak water for drinking through proper treatment.

The centre further communicated its design to submit a suggestion to the State Government on the possible utilisation of Loktak water.
