England no longer an underdog team after winning spree, claims Rooney

England captain Wayne Rooney believes that his team has developed significantly since their disastrous World Cup campaign last year, indicating that they can no longer be considered as pushovers in view of their seven successive wins since the pinnacle tournament in Brazil.

England were eliminated from the World Cup in the group stages and will next face Italy on Tuesday looking for an eighth straight win since.

Manchester United forward Rooney said that he wanted teams to look at England and think that they would have a tough game and would be physically hard against his side, the BBC reported. Following their latest 4-0 win over Lithuania at Wembley, England have consolidated their spot as number one in Group E by six points in the 2016 European Championship qualifiers.
