Live: AAP crisis continues
Even as AAP’s National Executive have decided to meet on Wednesday to iron out differences, dissidents continue to openly speak against party leader Arvind Kejriwal.
In an interview to a private news channel, Prashant Bhushan said that the party is suffering from the risk of becoming a one man show. Bhushan said that he believes the party can’t compromise on some core ideologies just for the sake of electoral benefits. But he alleged that Arvind believes in making some compromises. Bhushan rejected the charge that he is close to BJP and particularly Arun Jaitley. Bhushan also squashed insinuation made by spokesperson Sanjay Singh on Monday that he and Yogendra Yadav are looking to unseat Kejriwal from the top post of AAP. Bhushan was candid enough to admit that his line of communication with Arvind Kejriwal has broken down.
On Monday night, Yogendra Yadav said he along with Prashant Bhushan too had rejected his resignation as party chief.
However, he said that the party should not fall prey to personality cult. “We raised our hand. We said we cannot accept his resignation. He must continue to be the National Convenor because he deserves to be. “Because that is the best thing that can happen to this party. Because he is a symbol and icon for the party and new kind of politics not just in Delhi and the entire country,” Yadav said in an interview to a news channel.
Kejriwal had tendered his resignation in the National Executive meeting held last week.
