Imphal, April 08 2013: Ningombam Satyabhama who was a JRF of DBT Project, RIMS Pathology Department made a frantic search for a man’s residence all alone before her shocking death.

Sources informed that Satyabhama was seen searching for a man’s residence alone at about 8.30 in the evening.

On the last day of the Yaoshang festival (March 31) Satyabhama came riding a two-wheeler to a shop which deals in mobile recharge coupons near Nongmeibung, Imphal East district at about 8.30 pm.

She came to the shop and enquired about a man citing his name.

She was wearing a phanek on that particular night and she bought mobile recharge worth Rs 110 for Aircel from the shop.

As Satyabhama was waiting for delivery message for the e-recharge, she asked the shopkeeper, “Where exactly is the location of the man’s residence and how large is Nongmeibung?” .

The shopkeeper explained in detail the limits of Nongmeibung.

Taking the name of the particular man, Satyabhama said that the man was suffering from a stone case as if a doctor was coming to examine a patient.

Satyabhama put the same question to two other customers of the shop apart from the shopkeeper himself.

However, none of them could give a definite answer as they were unaware whether the particular man Satyabhama was looking for lived in Nongmeibung or not.

After a brief conversation, Satyabhama left the shop riding her two-wheeler to the South.

When she came to the shop she was not seen carrying anything except her mobile phone.

The shopkeeper and the few people who met Satyabhama at the shop realized that the woman found murdered at Bashikhong paddy fields was the one who had her mobile phone e-recharged at the shop on the last day of Yaoshang festival only when they came across reports of the murder in the newspapers.
