Imphal, April 07 2013 : Even as Manipur Police have been finding it hard to crack the case over killing of Ningombam Satyabhama, sources have hinted that the killing might have been designed by a fierce criminal with intent to kill right from the very beginning.

According to police reports, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Manipur Police has been formed yesterday with M Rajen, Additional SP of Imphal East as the head of the team.

Another four police officers are also in the team.

The case is being monitored personally by the DGP Y Joykumar along with other high police officials.

However, even after three days of recovery of the lifeless body of Satyabhama, the police have not been able to trace the culprits involved in the heinous crime.

The mobile phone used by Satyabhama has not been seized by the police till today.

However, on tracking the mobile phone number of Satyabhama, it has been revealed that the mobile phone number through which Satyabhama had been called out just before she left for office on that fateful day, had been activated just two days before the incident.

Apart from giving just one call to the mobile phone number of Satyabhama, the said mobile phone had not made any other call earlier to any other number whatsoever.

Sources disclosed that when the police tracked down the owner of the mobile number through which Satybhama had been called out from home, it was found that the number was registered under a fake name belonging to Bishnupur district, which does not exist at all.

As such, it is believed that the person had already planned to kill the victim well in advance and the police are having a hard time to trace the real culprits involved in the killing.

The family members of Satyabhama or her friends have also not been able to establish the identity of her lover, if she had any.

They are only able to inform the police that she had been having telephonic talks with one James, whom she revealed as a contractor and nothing more than that could be established by the police till date.

So, the Manipur police are having a hard time trying to solve the case, sources added.

Nonetheless, a police officer informed Hueiyen Lanpao that all the police officers of the different districts of the State are in full co-ordination to solve the case at the earliest possible.

Suspected areas would be raided at the order of the DGP.
