Imphal, March 27 2015 : The State Cabinet which met today with Chief Minister O Ibobi in the chair has decided to hold elections to the Autonomous District Council on May 30 as well as to give recognition to four languages of the hill districts and to introduce the same in the school syllabus upto Class VIII.
According to Government spokesman and Education Minister M Okendro, election to the ADCs will be held on May 30 and the result will be announced on June 8 .
Voting will start from 7 in morning on May 30 and the same will go on till 4.30 in the evening, said Okendro.
The draft electoral roll for the said elections will be published on March 30.The last date for changing or altering the draft election roll will be April 13 and the final electoral roll will be published on April 20 .
The public notification for the ADC polls will be published on April 30 .

Giving other details, Okendro said that the last date for filing nomination papers of intending candidates is May 6 .
Scrutiny will be held on May 7 and the last date of withdrawal of nomination papers is May 11 .
If needed, repoll will be held on June 4.Counting will be held on June 8 and the respective Returning Officers will announce the poll results, added the Minister.
