If reports are to be true, then it would be N Srinivasan and not Mustafa Kamal doing the trophy honors at the World Cup final at MCG on Sunday.

Though president Mustafa Kamal is slated to do the honor, but post his outrage following India’s quarter-final victory over Bangladesh, Srinivasan may go ahead with the ceremony. Kamal had termed the umpiring against India as ‘substandard’.

Srinivasan took over as the Chairman of ICC in 2014. He heads the governing body and is perhaps the most important figure. The ICC President has always handed the trophy to the winners. In 2011, it was then president, Sharad Pawar, who presented the trophy to MS Dhoni.
