The five day long 72nd session of Asom Sahitya Sabha began today at Biswaratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Samannay Kshetra at Barpeta Road in Barpeta district of Assam. At least 20 lakh are likely to attend the biggest literary meet of the state from across
the country.
It is reported that, special arrangements have been made to showcase traditional cultural events of several states under the aegis of Ministry of Culture and Sangeet Natak Academy. Seminar, book fair, art and science exhibitions are also being held. About 200 book stalls have been
set up. Assam State Transport Corporation is to run special buses from several destinations during the session.
