Imphal, December 22, 2013: Troops of 7 Assam Rifles of 27 Sector AR under Red Shield Division reportedly apprehended an arms dealer on December 21. Based on specific intelligence received from own sources regarding presence of arms and ammunition at Chuimtu Veng of New Lamka in Churachandpur district, a swift operation was launched which led to the arrest of one Minlun (23) s/o Hauthianlal of Chuimtu Veng, informed a PIB (DW) release.
Stating that the apprehended individual is suspected to be an arms dealer, the release listed three country-made 9mm pistols and one .22 Rifle alongwith seven live rounds as items recovered from Minlun’s house during the search.
The arrested person alongwith the recovered arms and ammunition was later handed over to Imphal West police station, it added.
