Google takes the world: A variety of products announced on April 1
Google had a slew of surprise releases today, April 1, and they’ve just blown it out of the water. From new gadgets to software updates, to new features in Chrome, here are the ones we coud round up.
Google Maps Pacman
Open Google Maps in your browser today and you’ll be treated to a hit of nostalgia. Right next to the terrain toggle is a Pacman button, that lets you play the old school classic on existing roads. You need to be using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer to play. But don’t worry, you can play it on your phone too, if you don’t have access to a PC. You just have to find the hidden pins first.
Opposite Day Google
Ever wanted to make typing a simple search term harder, for absoutely no reason whatsoever? Have no fear, Google has your back! Just head on over to the mirror-image of Google’s search engine at http://com.google and knock yourself out. The name is backwards, the search bar text, and even results and cards.
Google Fiber Dial-up Mode
While Google Fiber isn’t a facility available to our Indian audience, our friends in the US have gone above and beyond. During the process of connecting American cities with high-speed fibre optic networks, the Google team realised a very pertinent problem we all have. With internet access, we don’t have time for the little things anymore.
