IPL 8: Stars that drive Mumbai Indians

A zero last Sunday in the World Cup final notwithstanding, right-handed attacking Australian opening batsman Aaron Finch is all excited about joining Mumbai Indians on Saturday morning. Celebrating the World Cup triumph the last few days, Finch was full of mixed emotions, excited to join the Mumbai Indians bandwagon that has already undergone four evenings of intense training session.
The 28-year-old Victorian, who began the World Cup with a century (135) against England but did not have anything significant to show except for the crucial 81 against India in the semifinals, took to Twitter, as is becoming the norm now-a-days for the stars to express themselves, to show his anxiety in joining the eighth edition of IPL.
His two tweets since boarding the Qantas flight for Mumbai on Friday morning was: “I’m going to miss my 2 girls while I’m away!! Xxx @whisperingaimz http://ift.tt/1MOv68G” and “The new @Qantas A330 cabin is outstanding!! Off to Singapore then to @mipaltan!! See you soon Mumbai” while a couple of days earlier, he could not hide his excitement about working with fellow Aussie and MI head coach Ricky Ponting. “Yes, very excited RT @DogsJae: @AaronFinch5 Are you excited having Ricky Ponting as your coach?” was his response to a query on the social network.
Finch’s fellow Mumbai Indians top-order batsman Lendl Simmons from the West Indies is expected to arrive on Saturday evening while the last set of players to arrive – Corey Anderson, Josh Hazlewood, Lasith Malinga, Mitchell McCleneghan among others will join on Saturday in time for their practice match under lights scheduled at 8pm.
