Union Finance MinisterArun Jaitley said on Saturday that Land Acquisition Bill prepared by the UPA Government in 2013 was an anti-farmer initiative and it had offered nothing to the farmers.
Speaking with media persons in Bengaluru, Arun Jaitley said the present government-led by Narendra Modi has made nine amendments to the proposed Land Acquisition Bill for the benefit of farmers.
“The proposed Land Acquisition Bill offers many benefits to the farmers,” Jaitley said.
The Union Finance Minister said the BJP would continue its membership drive and achieve the 10-crore target in the near future.
“As of now, the BJP has become the largest political party in the world. We want to open one BJP office at every district headquarters across the country to strengthen BJP and support government’s initiatives,” he said.
He said the BJP would organise training programme for the newly enrolled members in political activism.
“There is a plan to train 15 lakh members in political activism. The BJP want to utilise them to promote and support the welfare schemes introduced by the Central Government and counter Opposition parties’ propaganda against the government’s initiatives to introduce welfare schemes,” he said.
