Imphal, January 23 2014 : A day after the family of a lineman electrocuted while on duty refused to claim the body, the department has stuck a deal with the ZSF today paving way for the conduct of last rite for the deceased.
Under the deal arrived at the department CE’s office in Imphal later today, the Government has agreed to compensate the family within three months.
It will also offer job to the next of kin or make provisions for the family to enjoy the deceased lineman’s pay until his superannuation, said a source.
Besides the department has given Rs 2 lakh to condole the demise during the talk that was also attended by Henglep MLA T Manga Vaiphei and the VPC President.
Soon after striking the deal the dead body which lay at the morgue was claimed by the family at around 4pm and laid to rest at new Christian cemetery here.
