PM to study Central projects with NE CMs

Imphal, January 19 2014 : Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh would discuss central sector projects being taken up in the North Eastern region including Manipur with Chief Ministers of the North Eastern State at his official residence tomorrow morning.


Chief Minister O Ibobi who is currently attending a meeting of the AICC would attend the meeting and confer with the Prime Minister on some central sector projects like Jiribam-Imphal railway, Imphal-Jiribam highway, airport, telecom and transmission.


Taking serious note of the crippling effect caused by non-release of fund by the Centre for Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal railway project, the State Governor recently took up the matter with the Prime Minister and other relevant Central leaders.

The Chief Minister may also put up the matter of frequent bans imposed by civil organisations against Central projects in Manipur during his meeting with the Prime Minister tomorrow morning.


Chief Minister O Ibobi would also attend another meeting of North East Chief Ministers on ‘universalization of health sector’ which would be presided by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Aluhwalia at 3.30 pm tomorrow.
