Imphal, September 24 2013: The Planning Commission held a meeting at New Delhi yesterday and reviewed utilization of the State’s plan amount and several projects being implemen- ted in Manipur.


Planning Commission Secretary Sindu Kholler presided the meeting where Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga, Addl CS RR Rashmi and top officials of different departments were present.


Nine ongoing projects including Capital Project, clearance of phumdis from Loktak Lake, construction of mini secretariats at district headquarters and irrigation projects were deliberated at the meeting.


The Planning Commission officials asked the State Government officials tentative dates for completion of these projects.


The meeting also discussed re-structuring of SPA projects, flagship programmes, central sponsored schemes as well as mode of utilization of plan amount.


The Planning Commission further asked the State Government officials to submit project proposals as soon as possible so that plan amount for the current financial year can be released in time.
