State Level Consultative Committee of FCI Sikkim meets


GANGTOK, 20 Sept [IPR]: A meeting of State Level Consultative Committee (SLCC) of Food Corporation of India – Sikkim was held on 19 September in Gangtok. The meeting was chaired by Member of Parliament, PD Rai, in his capacity as Chairman of the committee.

While deliberating on the issues relating to the Public Distribution System (PDS), the Chairman also directed the committee members to prepare a road map of the distribution and preservation of food-grains and construction of new food godowns in the four districts of the state. It was also decided that the pending Hill Transport Subsidy (HTS) claims made at Siliguri office should be cleared on a one-time settlement basis by FCI.

In respect of the pending claims made at FCI Gangtok, this needs to be settled expeditiously in consultation with the Food, Civil Supplies and CA Department. The FCI officials assured their full cooperation in all the matter. Present in the meeting were General Manager, FCI, West Bengal Region, Area Manager, FCI, Gangtok, Special Secretary, Food, CS & CA Department apart from other officials of FCI and FCS & CA Department.
