Imphal, October 04 2013 : Governor Dr Ashwani Kumar and Chief Minister O Ibobi have extended their greetings to the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Mera Chaoren Houba which falls on Oct 5.Observing that Mera Chaoren Houba is celebrated to herald the advent of Mera-month (Sept-Oct) with the objective of preserving and promoting unity and integrity among all communities of the State, Governor Dr Ashwani Kumar, in a message, wished all to celebrate the festival in its true spirit upholding the tradition of coexistence in the pluralistic society.
CM O Ibobi wished the festival strengthen further the age-old traditions of peaceful coexistence and harmony in the pluralistic society of Manipur and bring peace and prosperity to the State.
