Imphal, February 28 2013: Kuki Inpi, Saikul Block has requested the Manipur Electricity Department to extend the last date for payment of outstanding power bills for the Saikul area, Senapati district on Thursday.
Thangkam Lupheng, president, Kuki Inpi of Saikul block, said the Saikul area has a large number of villages besides being a hill area and hence it would be difficult to collect power taxes in the area in a short period of time.
Electricity Department has earlier given notice to the area to clear all due electricity bills by February 28 .
Lupheng also said he hopes the Power Department will take note and endorse to the call for extension of the last date for payment of power taxes in the Saikul area.
