Imphal, February 26 2013: A three-day workshop on Labour Market, employment and social protection: Trends and Challenges was inaugurated today at Tribal Research Institute, here.

The inaugural function of the workshop organised by VV Giri National Labour Institute, Noida, in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, RCM, was graced by Prof Amar Yumnam, Dean, SSS, MU and Director of Centre for Manipur Studies, MU and Dr Vanlalnghak, Director, IGNTU-RCM as the chief guest and president respectively.

The first session of the workshop was engaged by Dr Chinglen Maisnam, Dept of Economics, MU who spoke on the topic Employment and Unemployment Scenario of Manipur.

Otojit Kshetrimayum, Associate Fellow and Coordinator, Centre for NE, VVGNLI spoke on the topic Contextualising social Protection in Manipur.
