KNO regrets

Lamka, February 02 2013 : The Kuki National Organisation today said it deeply regretted the unfortunate circumstances that led to the demise of Haokhosei Lhouvum alias Josh Seiboi, a member of SoO’s Joint Monitoring Group, whose body was recovered from Kotsuohoi village, about 4 kms west from here.


Without mentioning details of the incident which it dubbed was tragic, the KNO statement issued by Under Secretary T Stephen said the ‘demise’ was caused by cadres of the organization on January 29, and that the KNO ‘offers sincere condolences to the family members and dear ones’ .


The statement also informed that the KNO Cabinet had on February 1 performed customary ‘peace offering’ and observed the traditional practices followed in Kuki customs to settle the case.


It added, “having fulfilled this customary obligation, KNO appeals for forgiveness and reconciliation, and that no untoward word or activity may follow owing to this sad incident” .


Haokhosei Lhouvum is reported to be a resident of Sapermeina, Sadar Hills.


His family had claimed the body on the same day the police deposited it at the district hospital morgue here.
