TET conducted in 62 centres

Imphal, March 24 2013 : Altogether 39083 candidates have appeared in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) in 62 centres across the State today.


In all 27 candidates were expelled for using unfair means in the exam.


P Dhanakumar, Chairman, BSEM, informed Hueiyen Lanpao that 28,436 candidates have appeared in Paper I while another 10,647 candidates in Paper II .


The district-wise, 18 examinations centres have been opened in Imphal East and West; 1 in Jiribam sub-division; 2 in Kangpokpi sub-division; 5 in Chandel; 3 in Tamenglong; 4 in Senapati; 7 in Churachandpur; 4 in Ukhrul; 2 in Bishnupur and 16 in Thoubal district.


The centres allotted in Imphal East and Imphal West were Board centres while the rest were Private centres.


Dhanakumar further informed that 8883 candidates have appeared in the TET from Imphal East and West; 3829 candidates from Thoubal district; 1696 candidates from Bishnupur; 2454 candidates from Ukhrul; 6856 candidates from Churachandpur; 4060 candidates from Senapati; 2564 candidates from Tamenglong; 3934 candidates from Chandel and another 546 candidates from Kangpokpi.

In the TET conducted today, 27 candidates, who were found using unfair means, were expelled.


Of the 27 students, eight of them were from centres allocated in Senapati district, 15 from Kangpokpi centres and two from Chandel centres, he disclosed, adding that the conduct of the examination was by and large peaceful.


It is said that the results of TET would be declared within a period of 15 days.


Our Tamenglong correspondent adds: As many as 4367 candidates appeared in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted under Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) in three examination centres at Tamenglong District HQs here today.


Out of the 4367 candidates, 1822 of them including two candidates hailing from Tousem Sub-Division but whose roll numbers are allocated for Jiribam Sub-division, appeared in Paper I.The two were allowed to seat and write in the Tamenglong Examination Centre.


The total number of enrolment for appearing in Paper I was 1968 .


The remaining 2545 candidates appeared for Paper II.


The total enrolment for Paper-II was 2598.While talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Kunjabihari, one of the members of Flying Squad of BSEM, said that the examination was conducted peacefully without any problem.


He also appreciated the Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong, who came for the inspection.


On the other hand, MLA of Chingai A/C Preshow Shimray, who also a member of the State Level Consultative Committee on TET, inspected the TET examination centres of Ukhrul district today.
