Imphal, March 17 2013 : Drivers and assistant drivers affiliated to Manipur Drivers’ Welfare Association and All Manipur highway Goods Carriers’ Welfare Organisation today cleansed the Keithelmanbi Canal.
According to Manipur Drivers’ Welfare Association president Saikhom Babudhon about 1000 trucks remain static in between Keithel-manbi to Khumbong for 2-3 days awaiting security escort to ply on the National Highway 37 .
With the Keithelmanbi canal serving as the main source of water for such a large number of drivers and handymen the transport operators decided to main cleanliness of the water source, he said.
