Four KYKL cadres surrender

Imphal, March 11 2013: Four cadres of the banned outfit Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) have reportedly surrendered to Manipur Police.


According to a source, the four KYKL cadres are being housed at Moreh after they crossed into India (Manipur) from Myanmar a few days back under an arrangement made by Imphal East District Police.


The UG cadres who have surrendered to the State are S/S Cpl RK Ibungo alias Bishorjit (23) s/o Leishabi of Ningthoukhong Bazar Maning Leikai, S/S L/Cpl Ningthoujam Thoiba alias Gopen (25) s/o Bidur of Kwakeithel Bazar, S/S L/Cpl Akoijam Jiten alias Ningjaba (27) s/o Herachandra of Moirang Khoushabung Nganuleima Mamang and S/S Sgt Akoijam Basanta alias Fighter (38) s/o Ibopishak of Patsoi Part III .


They were escorted to Moreh from the international border by Manipur police commandos posted at the border town.


They were housed there since a few days back.


The surrendered cadres have been brought to Imphal today by a team of Imphal East commandos.


However, it cannot be ascertained till the time of filing this report whether they brought along any weapons or not.
