Mary Kom academy hails

Imphal, February 28 2013: The recent approval by the State Cabinet for allotting 3.30 acres of land to the Mary Kom Regional boxing Foundation has been applauded by the Foundation.


In a statement of appreciation issued by its secretary Jimmy Leivon, the boxing academy run by the ace boxer was set up in 2006 with a vision to produce ‘medal winners from underprivileged potential’ .


Including 29 residential boxers, a total of 57 pugilists are being provided free training and requisite diet supplements, said the secretary who also quoted London Olympics bronze medallist MC Mary kom as saying that she is committed to producing medal winners at the highest level of competition.
