Source:

Imphal, March 16 2013 : Reacting to a news item published in this paper on March 12 in which it was reported that Police Gas is one of the many LPG distributors which have serious problems like more than one consumers having same address, giving connection on incomplete documents, giving connection based on Rifleman number, etc, the Superintendent of Police (MT), Central Motor Transport Workshop has dismissed the report as baseless.

According to a press release issued by the SP (MT), verification process of all consumer cards including those which have not been used for a long time is going on.

When two brothers joined police service, they have the same address.

General service identity cards and consumer particulars were provided while applying for new connections.

But presently, necessary documents are collected as per guidelines of the IOC.

Given this procedure, it is unimaginable to give new connections based only on Rifleman numbers, asserted the SP (MT) .
