Imphal, May 20 2013: Determined to pursue medical studies, HSLC Exam 2013 topper Miranda Mongbijam has been already admitted in an institute in Hyderabad even before the exam results were declared.

When this reporter visited Miranda at her Thangmeiband Lairenhan-jaba Leikai this afternoon, she was not found there.

On being contacted through telephone, Miranda confided her choice for medical profession.

When a media team first broke the news of Miranda securing first position in the merit list, all the family members were spellbound.

Several moments later, after they regained their composure, they told the media team that Miranda was away.

Miranda said that she would specialise her medical studies on Neurology after completing MBBS.

Miranda is the first daughter of Mongbijam Iboyaima and Mongbijam (O) Premila.

By securing the top position in the merit, Miranda made herself a pride of her parents, her locality Thangmeiband Lairenhanjaba Leikai and her school Nirmalabas.

Iboyaima is a businessman while Premila is a teacher in a Government High School.

Miranda said that she did not study for long hours.

“There were times when I felt exhausted because of the tight schedule for going to private tuition in addition to attending school”, Miranda said.

For her extraordinary achievement, Miranda gave full credit to parents and teachers.

“If each and every citizen dedicate themselves to their professions, law and order of the situation would definitely improve”, she said.
