Imphal, May 21 2013: The State Government has decided to evict encroachers for expansion of roads in Imphal and greater Imphal areas.
The State Government has initiated necessary procedures to evict encroachers as it feels that many roads in Imphal and greater Imphal areas would disappear after some years without any trace due to continuous encroachment.
Land necessary for expansion of roads would be acquired by the Government according to law and if there are encroachers on these lands, they would be evicted, informed a source.
Relevant Deputy Commissioners and the Settlement Department have been already instructed to take up necessary steps for acquisition of land for expansion of roads after drawing up a priority list with due consideration about the State Government’s fund paucity, added the source.
