Imphal, May 19 2013: The State Government will consider incentives that may be given to the five Manipuri mountaineers who have successfully scaled the world’s highest peak Mt Everest, informed the Chief Minister while talking with .
The Mt Everest expedition was jointly organised by MMTA and sponsored by North Eastern Council (NEC) and the State Planning Department.
Another expedition was also sponsored by the NCC in which two cadets from Manipur made it to the highest peak in the world.
N Bidyapati Devi of Mongjam Maning Leikai, N Chingkheinganba of Patsoi Part IV, Puyamcha Mohon of Lamshang Bazar, Ch Shankar of Waheng Khuman Nambol and Ph Bidyachand of Moirang Khunou Keli Makhong were members of the MMTA expedition team who successfully scaled Mt Everest.
