Imphal, May 25 2013 : The foundation for construction of Pine Mount Girls’ College building was laid today at Chadonpokpi Phaipi village in Chandel district today.
The foundation laying ceremony was graced by DC of Chandel, Th Chitaranjan Singh; Chairman of the college Governing Body, Th Hopeson Chothe and Additional DC of Chandel, Hmangte Lerte Kom as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Village chiefs, public leaders and church elders and pastors of the area took part in the programme.
Th Chitaranjan, while speaking at the occasion, dwelt at length on the importance of women empowerment through education.
Th Hopeson Chothe, retired MCS officer, said the college would begin classes from the next academic session (2014) .
