Imphal, May 18 2013 : A suspected NSCN (IM) cadre died in a gunfight with ZUF rebels at Lunghshai Chiru, located at the border of Bishnupur and Chu-rachandpur districts at around 2 pm today.
The gunbattle broke out at the bank of Thongjaorok riv-er under Upper Ngariyan area, 7 km from Bishnupur Bazar on Ngariyan road, said a source.
According to an identity card found on the deceased, the victim is suspected to be one Paosindai Golmei (22) of Nagailung, Senapati district.
However, information culled from the spot said that the youth hailed from Tung-sangdai village, located close to the incident site.
Bishnupur district police and Army have rushed to the spot.
