Imphal, May 16 2013: A sit in protest was staged today against yesterday’s bomb explosion at Heirok Part-I Hetuppokpi by locals of the area today at Wangjing Heituppokpi Waiting Shed.
The participants also took out a rally around the locality.
Meanwhile, the bomb-like material found yesterday near the blast site was confirmed to be paraphernalia of some rituals.
The sit in protest began today around 10am and went on till 4pm.Placards reading ‘We want peace,’ ‘We detest violence,’ ‘Don’t terrorise the people,’ ‘Clarify,’ etc.
The explosive, it may be recalled, went off when a foot patrol party of BSF passed through the area yesterday.
No casualty was reported.
