Blooming Manipur to spread out to Thoubal, Kakching and Kangpokpi Instilling A Sense Of Belongingness To The Imas Of Ima Keithel

Imphal, June 16 2013: The concept of Blooming Manipur, which has had a profound impact on Ima Keithel, visually, aesthetically and hygienically has positively impacted on some section of the people of Thoubal, Kakching and Kangpokpi, who have expressed their desire that such a step be extended to their market places as well and bring about profound transformation.

Significantly, the concept of Blooming Manipur has already spread to Moirang, where the Aoon Thoibi Keithel is now adorned with beautiful flowers and trees with the active involvement of the local community.

In a statement issued to the press, the Co-ordinator of Blooming Manipur, E Bishwajeet said that it is their belief that “social transformation of our landscapes into beautiful places of pride and to imbibe a sense of belongingness can be one of the important basis of developing Manipur” .

Extending its gratitude and appreciation to all those who have been following the activities of Blooming Manipur in general and for extending their moral support in particular, the statement acknowledged the opportunity that Blooming Manipur had to work with Kangla facebook Group, Imphal Municipality Council, European Manipuri Association, Manipur Times, Manipur Photography Club, Blooming Moirang, Manipur Cycle Club and other individuals.

Activists of Blooming Manipur are proud to have played a role for “our Ima Keithel to bloom with many beautiful flowers and opur indigenous Urung Trees”, said the statement and extended its gratitude to the Chairperson of Imphal Municipal Council and the individual role of Ima Hajarimayum Radharani who took care of the blooming flowers next to her potpham.

Blooming Manipur has also requested the Imphal Municipal Council and responsible authorities, the public and the hard working womenfolk of Ima Keithel to bring about the much needed transformation that the historic market richly deserves.
