Imphal, June 29 2013 : A hand grenade was found in the premises of Comet Higher Secondary School, Ghari in Imphal West this morning around 5.The grenade was later retrieved by a team of Bomb Disposal squad of the State Police.
Meanwhile, a sit in protest was staged against the lobbing of grenade inside the school campus at Ghari by students, staff of the school and locals of the area.
Clarifying that there was no monetary demand from any militant group, Principal of the School, Khomdram Ibocha urged all concerned to restrain from such unwanted acts in the future.
In an unrelated incident, a hand grenade was found at the residence of one Laishram Dev Kumar (40) at Wangjing Lamding in Thoubal district early today afternoon.
Bomb disposal squad team of the police retrieved the grenade and defused the same at Wangjing Kodompokpi Lampak.
Dev Kumar owns a Tata magic vehicle.
No monetary demand was made to him by anyone.
