NSCN K refutes encounter theory

Source:

Imphal, June 26 2013: Refuting PIB (DW) statement on the Songlung village incident, NSCN (K) has claimed that no encounter ever happened at the village.

In a statement issued to the press, spokesperson to the president of the outfit, P Tikhak said, “The gruesome killing of six Naga boys by the 10 Assam Rifles, has once again unmasked the real face of the paramilitary force” .

After inviting the NSCN (K) members for a friendly discussion, all six of them were packed in their vehicle and shot dead later, P Tikhak alleged.

“It is purely a cold blooded murder, a treachery of the highest order, a crime, which a civilized society will not allow to go unpunished.

How can the GoI allow such people to lead an armed force.

The entire unit of 10 Assam Rifles is party to this crime and they all must be booked,” he demanded.

There is not an iota of truth in the claim of the Assam Rifles that there was an encounter on Saturday afternoon and followed by the killing of six NSCN cadres the next morning after a hot chase, he added.

It is nothing but the usual practice of the Assam Rifles to befool the people by saying, ‘on a tip off they go to a certain place where they face a volley of fire and as usual nothing happens to them but later in the retaliatory action they manage to kill as many number as they wish’, P Tikhak said.

He said, “Though, it is not surprising to know or hear of fake killings by Assam Rifles, this incident has torn our hearts apart in their death it has also strengthened our hands and cemented our commitment towards the cause of Nation building and movement on self determination.

NSCN salutes all the departed souls for their selfless sacrifice.

My humble prayer to God, to give peace to every soul and strength to the bereaved family” .

P Tikhak further said that GOI must immediately initiate a proper investigation and book the perpetrators of the crime under the relevant sections of the IPC.

Saying that the incident has also proved that how much an Indian soldier can stoop low for a medal or a little increment in their salary, P Tikhak asserted that the greediness to make some quick buck has made them a group of monsters from a protector.

He alleged that the Assam Rifles has involved in killing many innocent lives in south-west Asia, if not thousands but hundreds and hundreds of tribal people have been killed by the Assam Rifles in the name of counter insurgency over the past few years.

P Tikhak also appealed all the National and international organisations to ban the Assam Rifles, a paramilitary force which according to him is used by the GOI to suppress and oppress the tribal people of the south-west Asia.

The whole of South-West Asia inhabited by different tribal people of Mongoloid origin has become a ground for practical classes of the Indian armed forces where they are free to gun down anybody they wish to, he added.

This barbarism of the Assam Rifles has testified their least respect for a human life and the low standard of Army ethics and lower moral values.

In another statement, Tikhak said that Col Ajay Sharma CO of 10 Assam Rifles and Major Gagan 2 IC 10 AR may be smart enough to coin words and phrases to make it sound like an encounter, but similar to such crimes committed across the world, here to some hard evidences have been unearhted which prove beyond a doubt that it was a fake encounter.

“We will produce these evidences before the Court of law once the Court takes cognizance of the crimes,” said the statement.
