Slow loris rescued

Imphal, June 26 2013: People for Animals, Thoubal has brought a Bengal slow loris in their transit house from two persons of Nongpok Louembam village.


According to a press release, Thongram Shyamchand and H Koromba of the locality informed PFA Thoubal that a slow loris was rescued from their backyard bamboo bush.


A team of PFA Thoubal rushed to the locality and provided first aid to the rescued wild animal, the press release said.


Saying that the slow loris is now at the transit house of PFA Thoubal, the press release said that the animal might have come out from the nearby hillock in search of food and shelter.


Straying of wild animals is an indication of deterioration of environment, added the press release.
