Imphal, June 24 2013: To register stiff objection to the recent Cabinet decision that gave approval for the conversion of Ramlal Paul Hr Sec School to an all girls’ school, students of Ramlal Paul Hr Sec School today picketed the school’s office and imposed an indefinite ban on functioning of the school administration.
Besides prohibiting movement within the premises, the students resolved to stage a sit-in within the premises for an indefinite period until the realisation of their demands.
Members of All Manipur Students Guardians’ Association, alumni and students of Ramlal Paul Hr Sec School took part in the sit-in today at the school premises.
Protesters today slammed Education Minister for his alleged ‘partiality’ that resulted in the outrage.

They also strongly denounced the All Manipur Higher Secondary School Lecturers’ Welfare Association for lobbying to facilitate such decision.
Appealing the authority concerned to revoke the Cabinet decision, the students also warned of launching intense agitation in collaboration with like-mined organisations of the State so as to restore the status of the school if the plea is not heard.
