Imphal, June 20 2013: In connection with the celebration of the 43rd birthday of AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, State Congress workers led by MPCC President and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam donated Rs 10, 000, 10 bags of rice, one bag of potatoes, one bag of onion, one tin of mustard oil and sweetmeats to Tabitha Home, Mantripukhri today.
He lauded the effort of PLHIVs and their children in fighting the disease courageously.
He also observed that people must not discriminate PLHIVs.
Earlier, birthday of Rahul Gandhi was celebrated with cutting of cake at Congress Bhavan.
MPCC Vice-President T Mangibabu, Sagolsem Achouba, MLA Y Surchandra, MPCC office bearers, party leaders and workers attended the programme, said a press release.
They wished Rahul Gandhi to work more for the welfare of the people of the nation.
