Meanwhile, not satisfied with the post mortem examination report, the visibly upset family members of Reingamphy have demanded justice during the funeral programme held today at the native village of the deceased here.

AS Chihanpam, father of Reingamphy said his daughter had been assisting the family financially since 2006. Several Tangkhul bodies like Tangkhul Naga Long, Tangkhul Shanao Long, Tangkhul Katamnao Long and Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long have vehemently condemned the incident and termed the act as barbaric and uncivilized.

Speakers at the funeral service expressed their anger against the acts of the Delhi police and the suspicious conduct of the landlord.

TSL president Ringluiwon strongly condemned the act and challenged the women folk to come forward and fight against women insecurity.

“The humiliating attitude of Delhi police to our people is not bearable; they refused to registered FIR against the prime suspect and applied delay tactics,” Ringluiwon said.

The Tangkhul bodies demanded the authorities concerned to deliver justice in the case without any further delay while also demanding the authorities concerned to ensure safety of women.

They urged the State authority to take step to establish the exact cause of the Reingamphy’s death from their counterpart Delhi Govt.

Banners condemning the incident and demanding justice in the case were displayed during the funeral service held today.
