Imphal, June 06, 2013: Frequent transfer of teachers, improper school buildings, inadequate staff, lack of teaching aid materials, misuse of funds sanctioned for school maintenance, untimely replacement for retired teachers and lack of science teachers are, according to Sagolmang Naga Students’ Association (SANSA), factors responsible for hampering the smooth and proper functioning of Govt schools in Sagolmang area.
A statement issued by SANSA president Z Reithingam said a team of the Association found the pitiable reality of the conditions of Govt schools in villages covered by Sagolmang during an inspection drive taken out from May 20 to June 2 under the theme ‘revive school management.’ The SANSA urged the concerned authority to immediately rectify the factors that impeded the growth of Govt Schools within the area so as to avert the students’ body from taking extreme steps.
