Kanggui, July 21 2013: Anganwadi Workers and Helpers under ICDS/CDPO Kangpokpi today expressed their discontentment over the non-payment of 14 months honorariums by the state government besides registering objection against the recent assurance by the Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai that only five months honorarium would be released.

Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association, Kangpokpi Centre also declared to extend unflinching support to the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union Manipur (AWHUM) and other district Associations in their demand for the same.

Kangpokpi Centre Union president L Nemvah said “inspite of our tremendous hardships due to non-payment of our honorarium for complete 14 months, the State Govt is only willing to clear honorariums for only five months” .

“We are not in a position to accept the honorarium assured by the Social Welfare Minister”, said Nemvah while adding that all the pending entitlements should be released at the earliest.

The Association also appealed to CDPO Kangpokpi to deposit their due honorariums in their respective bank accounts as the members will not accept or draw their due honorariums by any other means.

Along with affirming that Association members are prepared to launch agitation, she cautioned that until and unless the pending honorariums are paid the members might resort to “No Pay No Work” agitation.
