Imphal, July 19 2013 : Two AK rifles and eight grenades were recovered by personnel of 24 Assam Rifles from five persons while conducting frisking and checking at Khudengthabi today.
Based on specific inputs, the AR personnel conducted a check on a Tata Sumo (MN05A-2674) which came from Moreh towards Imphal today around 2.10pm.Two AK rifles and eight Chinese made hand grenades were found inside the vehicle.
The weapons along with five occupants of the vehicle were apprehended by the AR personnel, a source said.
9 AR at Khudengthabi has been replaced by 24 AR since June 26 .
