Imphal, July 21 2013: Represetatives of several women bodies today extended their best wishes to Sougaijam Bidyalakhsmi who will travel to 82 districts of seven North East States spreading the message to stop crimes against women in the second week of August.
A simple but solemn function was held in her honour at Jiribam.
The women representatives showered blessings for success in her endeavour and safe return to the 17-year-old girl.
They also encouraged Bidyalakhsmi for taking up the cause of women.
The teenager spoke at length about her journey in the programme, while women leaders also spoke on the problems being faced by womenfolk.
Bidyalakhsmi is the 4th daughter of S Iboton and Yangoisana of Lakhipur Ward No 9 .
She is now reading in Class XII in Jiribam Government Higher Secondary School.
She is also a senior volunteer of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan.
